From the field: Paul Clarke’s tip on the hijacked Ctrl+J System Information page
Since the release of PeopleSoft 8.x the “Ctrl J” key sequence has been used to display system information on the current browser session.

This function is very useful for finding the name of the current Page. For example, when creating a query it is often necessary to know the name of the field you are trying to report on. After pressing “Ctrl J” to retrieve the name of the Page, the Field name can be found using Application Designer. However, some modern browsers, including Firefox and Chrome, have hijacked the “Ctrl J” key sequence.
Fortunately we have found a simple workaround for you. Instead of “Ctrl J”, try “J Ctrl”, as follows:
- Press & hold the “J” key
- Press & hold the “Ctrl” key
- Release the “J” key
- Release the “Ctrl” key
